I’m Canadian and have been living in Lauzun for 10 years. I am retired and I spend my time playing guitar and piano, writing, cooking, reading, and trying to improve my French. I believe we are all creative and have enjoyed watching many friends over the last few years develop as musicians, writers and artists through the workshops we are so lucky to have.
Je suis Canadien et je vis à Lauzun depuis 10 ans. Je suis à la retraite et je passe mon temps à jouer de la guitare et du piano, à écrire, à cuisiner, à lire et à essayer d’améliorer mon français. Je crois que nous sommes tous créatifs et j’ai eu le plaisir de voir de nombreux amis au cours des dernières années se développer en tant que musiciens, écrivains et artistes grâce aux ateliers que nous avons la chance d’avoir.
The Writers Group meets every two weeks to share and get feedback on work we have written. We also learn through writing exercises and information sessions.
Le groupe d’écrivains se réunit toutes les deux semaines pour partager et recevoir des commentaires sur les travaux que nous avons écrits. Nous apprenons également par le biais d’exercices d’écriture et de séances d’information.

Team Lead: Linda Chanut
I’ve lived in France for over 30 years and have recently retired. I was an Englishteacher with the Education Nationale, I taught mainly in secondary schools but enjoyworking with adults because they usually have so much to say! Anyone can learn tospeak a foreign language, you don’t need to worry about the grammar, you just need confidence and dedication.
Je vis en France depuis plus de 30 ans et j’ai récemment pris ma retraite. J’étais professeur d’anglais à l’Education Nationale, j’ai enseigné principalement dans des écoles secondaires mais j’aime travailler avec des adultes parce qu’ils ont souvent beaucoup à dire ! Tout le monde peut apprendre à parler une langue étrangère, vous n’avez pas besoin de vous préoccuper de la grammaire, il vous suffit d’avoir confiance en vous et de vous investir.
The purpose of the English conversation group is to provide a place for French speakers to practise speaking English in an informal, relaxed setting.
L’objectif du groupe de conversation en anglais est de permettre aux francophones de pratiquer l’anglais dans un cadre informel et détendu.

Clara is working with local chefs and experts to present a series of cooking and wine-tasting events and workshops throughout 2023 and 2024.

The goal of the Lauzun ateliers music team is to encourage local musicians to perform and to provide live music to the community. We plan to host a number of musical evenings over the course of the year including open mic style evenings and concerts.
L’objectif de l’équipe musicale des ateliers de Lauzun est d’encourager les musiciens locaux à se produire et d’offrir de la musique live à la communauté. Nous prévoyons d’organiser un certain nombre de soirées musicales au cours de l’année, y compris des soirées à micro ouvert et des concerts.

Lauzun Cinema
Team Lead: George Birnie
With an M.A. in film, George has worked for a film distribution company and managed two independent “art” cinemas in London. He’s also.been a film location scout/manage as well as a film production manager… For George,… life is one long movie!
Titulaire d’une maîtrise en cinéma, George a travaillé pour une société de distribution de films et a géré deux cinémas “d’art et d’essai” indépendants à Londres. Il a également été repéreur/gestionnaire de lieux de tournage et directeur de production de films… Pour George, la vie est un long film !

Team Lead: Leesa LeMay
Leesa is a contemporary artist and printmaker based in Montignac de Lauzun. Leesa teaches the Lauzun Ateliers members in Lauzun as well as in her large grange studio.D\ For many years Leesa has been teaching within local schools, colleges and artist groups from Lindfield Art Studio in West Sussex, England. Leesa is the co-founder of the Lindfield Arts Festival. Leesa’s work has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy and she regularly exhibits at galleries and private expositions.
Leesa est une artiste contemporaine et une graveuse basée à Montignac de Lauzun. Leesa enseigne aux membres des Ateliers de Lauzun à Lauzun ainsi que dans son grand atelier de grange. Depuis de nombreuses années, Leesa enseigne dans les écoles, les collèges et les groupes d’artistes locaux depuis le Lindfield Art Studio dans le West Sussex, en Angleterre. Leesa est cofondatrice du Lindfield Arts Festival. Les œuvres de Leesa ont été sélectionnées pour la Royal Academy et elle expose régulièrement dans des galeries et des expositions privées.

Team Lead: Andy Barber
Andy Barber was born in Sheffield, England and has been involved in photography since he was given his first camera at the age of twelve.
As a photographer he has produced work for many national and international clients such as Stanley Tools, Tirfor Tractel, Batchelors Foods, Bassets Sweets, British Steel and Vauxhall Motors as well as numerous smaller companies. His work has also appeared in magazines, books, record covers, films and more recently on many websites.
For many years Andy was the regional officer for the Master Photographers Association in Yorkshire and has taught photography to City and Guilds Advanced Level as well as running a variety of photographic courses for several art organisations such as South West Arts, Plymouth Arts Centre and the Leadmill Gallery. He was also well known as a judge and lecturer for the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and the South West Photographic Federation.
Andy has exhibited at many venues in the UK including the NEC, Harrogate, Exeter Arts and the Leadmill Gallery and is currently showcasing his work in the South West of France where he now lives and works. His current works reflect the mastery of traditional photographic skills combined with his background in computing and the use of the latest digital techniques to produce his memorable photographic images.
Andy Barber est né à Sheffield en Angleterre, II s’est passionné pour la photographie dès l’âge de 12 ans lors de l’acquisition de son premier appareil photo,

Andy a exposé dans de nombreux lieux au Royaume-Uni, notamment au NEC, à Harrogate, à Exeter Arts et à la Leadmill Gallery. Il expose actuellement son travail dans le sud-ouest de la France, où il vit et travaille. Ses œuvres actuelles reflètent la maîtrise des techniques photographiques traditionnelles, combinée à son expérience en informatique et à l’utilisation des dernières techniques numériques pour produire des images photographiques mémorables.
